GWYMON
Vertical Dance Kate Lawrence
Role: Dancer
Choreographer: Kate Lawrence
Photographer: Roy Cambell-Moore
Gwymon draws inspiration from the work and life of writer Eluned Morgan (1870 – 1938), who was born aboard the ship Myfanwy traveling to Patagonia. In 1909, Eluned published Gwymon y Môr, describing a voyage from Britain to Patagonia. The name comes from the welsh translation of the word "seaweed." Gwymon is usually anchored and sways with the movement of the sea. Based on ancient myths and legends, this work explores a primal female connection to the sea.
